#2 Khalifa Port
Khalifa Port, owned by AD Ports Group, is a multi-purpose, semi-automated container port located between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. It handles various cargos and serves 25+ shipping lines, providing direct links to major international destinations. The port aims to handle over 9 million TEUs by 2024 and is expanding its capabilities.

A Strategic Location for EGA
Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) is the world's largest 'premium aluminium' producer and the biggest industrial company in the UAE outside oil and gas.
A New Container Freight Station for Shipping Aluminium
EGA shipped 600,000 tonnes of aluminium from Khalifa Port in 2019 using a new container freight station that is expected to reduce trucking of EGA's aluminium within KEZAD by over 290,000 kilometres a year, reducing cost, as well as environmental emissions of 2,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year.
The Only Port in the Region Accommodating Fully Laden Capesize Shipping Vessels
One of Khalifa Port's key benefits is the ability to handle Capesize shipping vessels, and is the only port in the Gulf that can accommodate these vessels fully laden. This allows EGA to import bauxite for their new Al Taweelah alumina refinery without the need to transfer cargo to smaller vessels outside of the port, reducing shipping costs and environmental impact.
Hot Metal Road services
The Hot Metal Road in KEZAD eliminates the need for KEZAD-based customers to re-melt transported metal before use. EGA's customers and businesses planning to establish their operations in KEZAD receive molten metal, resulting in reduced cost and environmental impact, and increased competitiveness for the growing UAE aluminium fabrication industry.
